HOLY SPIRIT is not SHOUTING how bad you are but how GOOD JESUS is!

I think too often that we have this skewed view of the role Holy Spirit performs in our lives. We have been taught that Holy Spirit is here to show you or convict you of your sins. It hat everyone you mess up He’s there to point out your failures. I want to take a moment and show you the role that Holy Spirit plays with in our lives. 

Holy Spirit does not make you conscious of your sin but He makes you conscious of Jesus! We often feel that Holy Spirit is there to tell us what is wrong with our lives but the reality is Holy Spirit is here to point us toward Jesus. We will look at a few scriptures to point at what I am saying. 

Still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12-14)O

One of the primary roles of Holy Spirit is to TESTIFY and GLORIFY Jesus! He is known as the comforter not the convictor. There are those who are going to be mad at me for making such a statement. I can hear it now…

“Well brother that is a false it says in John 16:8 that the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin!” 

That’s true but read the rest of the scripture.

   The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.  (Hebrews 16:9)

What is the sin? Unbelief is the sin that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of. The Holy Spirit is here to manifest Christ Glory to a unbelieving world so that they might believe HIM! We read in Hebrews 3 that the Children of Israel died in the wilderness not because of their Idolatry, Adultery, Lying, or thieving!

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses?  Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.                  (Hebrews 3:15-19)               

We saw that the only sin that Christ continued to confront with in man was their unbelief. Why? Because if they had the revelation of who He was they would not sin! We sin because we do not know the fullness of God through Christ Jesus. If we walked in the revelation of His love we would walk in the revelation of the Fathers fullness that gives us identity.

Holy Spirit is not CONVICTING you of your sin, He’s CONVICTING you of His GOODNESS that leads you to REPENTANCE!

“So why do I feel bad when I Sin?”

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

The Holy Spirit comes to convince or convict you of Jesus because if you can behold Him you will be transformed by Him from glory to glory. Sometimes when we see Jesus glory through the lens of the LAW we run from Him. That’s when we know that we have lost the revelation of our sonship. But if we see Him through humility and grace condemnation is easily cast off and we begin to walk in our Spirit and not our flesh.
When you confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart you became a new creation in Jesus. You born again through Holy Spirit and Jesus’ blood was sprinkled upon your evil fall of man consciousness and you became the righteousness of God. When you sin it goes against what you know to be true in your heart. You are no longer made for sin but for righteousness. It makes you feel defiled and the enemy tries to condemn you so that he cans STEAL (your identity), KILL (your flesh), and DESTROY (your destiny)! (Hebrews 10:19-23)
You feel bad because when you accepted Jesus into your heart you received the sprinkling of blood on your evil conscious.
So I want you to know Holy Spirit is not shouting how bad you are but how great Jesus is! Holy Spirit does not make you conscious of your sins, Holy Spirit makes you conscious of Jesus! The reason you feel bad when you sin is not because Holy Spirit is confronting your sin but your evil conscious was sprinkled with His blood. You are made for righteousness not sin. You’re born again with a pure conscious. Stop trying to learn how not to sin, and start learning how to walk in Sonship! Abiding is the key to not sinning! Holy Spirit is there to comfort you and cheer you on to Christ! He is our teacher and the Spirit of Truth. He often shows us the reality of our heart to lead us into places of humility to seek Jesus as our source. ONLY BELIEVE SAINTS!!!

Our God is an all consuming fire!

“I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am–so much greater that I’m not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. (Matthew 3:11)

     I think that we would all agree that we desire for God to set us ablaze for His kingdom. I mean we even have songs about it like Third Day’s “Soul on Fire” released this year. So what does it mean to be baptized with fire? Well we will dive into scripture and look at what John the Baptist was saying when he said, “He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire!” So let’s look at this historical event where men who feared their own lives became Living Sacrifices set on fire for all things Jesus.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. 

(Acts 1:8)

     So what we see here is a command from Jesus to his disciples to remain in Jerusalem till you receive power from the Holy Spirit. Ten days from this command on the day of Pentecost this command was fulfilled when the baptism of Holy Spirit and fire came from heaven.

On the day of Pentecost all the believers were meeting together in one place. Suddenly, there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm, and it filled the house where they were sitting. Then, what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability…  (Acts 2:1-4)

     So some of you might even say “I have experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit but I still feel very powerless”. Well let me tell you this “There is not one filling of the Holy Spirit but multiple fillings of Holy Spirit. You have to continue in the vine (abiding presence of Jesus) to continue this flow of Holy Spirit to pour out of you. The more aware of the reality of the Jesus who lives and dwells in you the more in tune you are to the operation of Holy Spirit in you and through you. But I want you to know that you can be consumed with the all-consuming fire of God! Being consumed with fire and Holy Spirit allows you to walk just as Jesus walked. You are filled with the same power to not only heal the sick, cast out devils, and raise the dead but you will do greater works than these. The power to see your life and family and friends will be actively manifesting through you. No longer do you have to live subject to the negative emotions of this world. Fear and rejection become a thing of your past. I am about to tell you how to walk in this supernatural life. Are you ready?

I am first going to read to you a verse out of Leviticus chapter 9:22

After that, Aaron raised his hands toward the people and blessed them. Then, after presenting the sin offering, the burnt offering, and the peace offering, he stepped down from the altar. Then Moses and Aaron went into the Tabernacle, and when they came back out, they blessed the people again, and the glory of the LORD appeared to the whole community. Fire blazed forth from the LORD’s presence and consumed the burnt offering and the fat on the altar. When the people saw this, they shouted with joy and fell face down on the ground.

     What we have here is the first Day of Atonement. On this day Aaron take the sin offering, burnt offering, and peace offering and places it upon the bronze alter and an all-consuming fire from heaven comes down and consumes it. There are a couple of things I want you to see. Jesus will forever be the sin offering, burnt offering, and peace offering between God and man. When Jesus shouted “It is Finished” He destroyed the power over sin and brought peace to God and men. The other thing I want you to see is the offering was considered holy and pure. Because it was holy and pure Gods presence consumed it and it pleased the Father.

     I want you to know that the only sacrifice that the fire of God would consume was that which is holy and pure. Christ fulfilled that requirement as the offering of sins once and for all. So you might be wondering “what does this have to do with me becoming on fire for God”? Well now Christ now lives in you if you have believed. You are the Temple of the Holy Spirit the problem is you lack revelation of who you have now become when you believed. You are now the child of the living God and you were presented Holy, Righteous, and above reproach to the Father by Jesus. (Col 1:22) You have become a new creation in Christ. It’s no longer you but the Christ the Hope of Glory living in you. The all-consuming fire could only consume that which met the requirement of being holy and pure. You meet those requirements.

     Without Faith it is impossible to please God. When you start meditating on the love of Christ you begin to operate in the fullness of God, (and to know this love that surpasses knowledge–that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. Eph 3:19) When you have the revelation that you are righteous and holy apart from the law faith becomes the substance that releases the fire of God upon your life to become a Living sacrifice unto the Lord. You will begin to burn so bright that everywhere you go you can’t help but to set hearts on fire for Jesus.

     So cry out to God! Ask Him to set you on fire for His Kingdom. Become a supernatural life in a natural world. It’s time church! Run your race today! You look just like Jesus to the Father fulfilling the requirement to be consumed with fire. Today is your day, ONLY BELIEVE!!!!

 

 

WHAT’S GOD’S WILL FOR MY LIFE? ARRGGG!!!!

WHATS GODS WILL FOR MY LIFE? ARRGGG!!!

Well if this is a question that brings much confusion and frustration to your life I will give you the answer. Are you ready? Well let me start with some things first. We have always heard that if its God’s will it will happen brother, well that’s not completely true. We have to cooperate with the will of God. Let’s look at one scripture that shows us how to cooperate with God’s will.

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. (Romans 12:1)

So when we submit our bodies to God as living sacrifice and renew our minds in the Word of God only then are we able to test the will of God for our lives. So the who notion that whatever is happening to your life in the moment is God’s will is a lie. Only in true submission are we able to discern His will.

Now I want to talk about the Three Wills of God.

  1. God’s prescriptive will    

          God promised Abraham and his children Canaan as their inheritance. He told them to remain there and take dominion over the land and His offspring would be as numerous as the sand beneath his feet. Gods command to Isaac in Gen 23 was to remain in the promise land and not to turn to Egypt. Gods will is that they would prosper in everything so this is his good will.       

  1. God’s permissive will

In God’s Permissive will we find as we step out of his grace into our pride or self-reliance we find that God allows the enemy to sift us. James 4 says that God resist the proud but pours out grace upon the Humble. Abraham’s descendants failed the test of famine and left the inheritance for the land of Egypt. God allows us to walk out of His perfect will and create our own messes. I want you to remember that even in our mess his banner over us is love and he turns all things too good for those who seek him. Remember the words of our savior that God hates divorce but because of the hardness of man’s heart he permitted it.

  1. God’s providential will

We must also speak of God’s providential will. In spite of Israel’s failure to claim and live in the land, God’s sovereign purposes for them could not be frustrated. God’s prescriptive will was that they not go to Egypt. His permissive will was to allow them to go to Egypt.  But eventually God’s providential will was accomplished when he declared ‘Out of Egypt I called my son’ (Hos. 11:1).

I want to mention one other Will of God. It’s called the perfect will. This is what I call the New Covenant will of God or the Spirit lead will of God. So are you ready to discover God’s perfect will for your LIFE? Here it is;

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all in every circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT)

Wow! There it is. The will of God for your life is to walk in His joy and maintain a life of humility. In this lifestyle you’re abiding in the vine and resting from your works. Do not be like our fathers before us who die in a wilderness with the evil heart of unbelief. Abide in the vine of Jesus as rest from your works and allow Holy Spirit to fill you with the fruits of his Spirit. Only Believe saints and rejoice again rejoice!

He said, I give you my peace!

Peace… How do we get it? How do we maintain it? First how do we get it. Obedience to the Spirit! It is hard to have faith in a life of disobedience. Peace comes from Christ. Christ even said I give you my peace. Think about that! The very peace that Christ had as he took our sins upon himself and hung himself on that cross is ours. It is a supernatural peace. A peace that can not come from focusing on the flesh. In the middle of a fierce storm we see the disciples cowering in a boat with fear praying that they would not die. And their answer comes as Jesus their savior walks on their fear. As soon as they recognize him Peter ask if he too can walk on the thing he feared which was not the water but death. Christ said come. Now this is important, he did not say Peter come but all Twelve to come. As Peter steps out of the boat his feet do not touch the water but the words of his Savior. He walks on th C the O and the M. And as he takes his last step his reality of God in the moment shrinks as his  fear of death magnifies with the storm. Now we know that Jesus picks him up and comments on his unbelief. But this story reveals our own realities.

Here are a couple of points.

1. We fear death over his promise. This means the disciples hated it anytime Christ talked about death, even Peter rebuked him. They even thought it was over the moment he died on that Cross. Before that time no man had came back from death to life. They feared death. Once Christ resurrected we see these same men run toward death knowing that life existed beyond the grave. Your peace is often dependent upon your circumstances and not the finished work of the cross.

2. I give you my peace- Jesus. His peace is the forfeiting of your right to understand your situation but the gazing of your heart into the eyes of Christ. Just like when Peter was walking on the water, as long as his eyes rested on Jesus nothing else mattered. We at times will start out walking on the storms in our lives but we soon realize that we are doing the impossible and we begin to sink in our fear. That is why intimacy realigns spirit and soul and we begin to see his face as seeing it in a mirror and transformed by his peace and he takes us from Glory to Glory.

3. Never give up. His grace is more than enough and his strength is made perfect in your weakness. Even when Peter was sinking Christ grace covered his unbelief and pulled him out of his fear back into Christ peace. I can hear Peter screaming Jesus help me. I don’t believe that Christ pulled Peter to the boat. I see his peace being restored as the hand of Christ reaches to pull him out of the darkness into his glorious light and them walking on the water back to the boat. In the same way when we lose our peace in the storm it is his grace the moment we cry out that releases the grace that restores it all. In the middle of your fear today call out and say King Jesus and watch him take authority in your life. Only believe!!! – Brent Kelley
