“Nobody puts baby in a corner”

“Nobody puts baby in a corner”
I felt Holy Spirit drop those words in my spirit awhile ago. A peculiar phrase for sure. I haven’t seen the movie ‘Dirty Dancing’ in years, yet there the familiar quote was, resting softly on my heart. I have to admit, there had been days I struggled with feeling discontent and devalued. Not because of anyone else…it was my own junk. Being a wife and mother brings much joy, but there was so much unrealized and aching to be birthed outside that realm. Those words at the top somehow spoke to the depths of me…and maybe this will speak to you.

The enemy wants to keep you quiet and intimidated so you might not do the things God has called you to do. Cornered and sedated with a lie. He wants you to feel devalued, inadequate and discontent and feeds those thoughts so joy and abundant life lay dormant. Don’t believe the lies.

The truth is, if you’re in Christ, you are sons and daughters of God. You’re His baby! You’re His child and were never meant to be cowering in a corner of unworthiness.

You are worthy. You are cherished by a God of redeeming love and continuous mercy. You were made to be salt and light. You were made to flavor and be a light in dark places. You were made to BE love and bring hope to a hopeless world. To give a voice to the voiceless. Yet, we all have our own unique voice. Sometimes that is what’s most intimidating. Because your ‘dance’ is different and your ‘voice’ doesn’t look like the strengths you perceive others posses, you will let yourself be put in a corner. Don’t believe the lie and fall into the trap. Be bold! Step out!

This isn’t about being in a spotlight. Only God is worthy of glory. It’s not people, it’s not your job or circumstance that gives you contentment, value and identity. Your contentment, value and identity can only be found in Christ. This is about realizing your sonship and learning who you are in him. Then you can fulfill your created potential.  Everything flows out of your intimacy with Jesus because when you dance lock-step with Him there is always something to offer. The Lord delights in that. When you shine for Him it encourages others to do the same. No matter your age or occupation, someone is watching your life’s dance. YOUR VOICE…YOUR dance…can make all the difference in someone’s world.

Lessons from a child’s faith

My Children have been some of my greatest life teachers. Jesus even made examples of them beckoning us to have child like faith and to come to him as a little child. In their tantrums or mimicking we can see a unbecoming reflection of ourselves. But in their reckless love and wonder…their trust in us…we see what God intended.

The other day my 2 yr old adventure, Levi, gave me one of the best pictures of child like faith. It was early morning, we were all inside except Levi. I had heard him go outside, but we have a fenced in yard and I can keep an eye on him through the window. Realizing I hadn’t seen him for several minutes I ventured out to look for him. Where I found him surprised me. He had pulled a bench up to the swing set just below the baby swing, climbed in it and buckled himself in. Just sitting there quiet and smiling. Expectant. Locked in, he had no other options to get out but me. He desired to swing but couldn’t do it himself. As I approached, His eyes seemed to say, “I knew you would come and swing me.”

“If you live cautiously your friends will call you wise. But you’ll never move any mountains.” (Bill Johnson)

Levi was locked in a swing, unable to get out or even swing by himself. Seemed pretty silly. But then I showed up. Had he not boldly taken the steps toward what was in his heart to do, he would have been in the house doing nothing instead of swinging to his heart’s desire.

When you dare to step out in faith people may call you reckless or foolish, not understanding heaven’s reality. Sometimes you will even question yourself. Because often what God places on our heart seems unrealistic. And really, it is without Him. But you aren’t without Him. Refraining from self effort, you must rest in great expectation that he will do the work. This doesn’t mean you don’t have a part to play.
We are called to walk by faith, not by sight. By stepping out in faith and walking in obedience even when you don’t see the next step ahead, heaven will invade earth and open up a realm of possibilities.

We start actually having confidence that we will have what we hoped for even when we can’t see it in the flesh…because we can see it with our heart. (Hebrews 11:1)

What has God laid on your heart? Are you willing to say yes and be ALL in? To move mountains? Reap a harvest? See the impossible made possible? Will you trust Him at His word and take the unknown path? We don’t wait on God. God is always now. He’s waiting on you to move. Don’t. Die. Hesitating

HOLY SPIRIT is not SHOUTING how bad you are but how GOOD JESUS is!

Holy Spirit - Pic

I think too often that we have this skewed view of the role Holy Spirit performs in our lives. We have been taught that Holy Spirit is here to show you or convict you of your sins. It hat everyone you mess up He’s there to point out your failures. I want to take a moment and show you the role that Holy Spirit plays with in our lives.

Holy Spirit does not make you conscious of your sin but He makes you conscious of Jesus! We often feel that Holy Spirit is there to tell us what is wrong with our lives but the reality is Holy Spirit is here to point us toward Jesus. We will look at a few scriptures to point at what I am saying.

Still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.  However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.  He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you. (John 16:12-14)O

One of the primary roles of Holy Spirit is to TESTIFY and GLORIFY Jesus! He is known as the comforter not the convictor. There are those who are going to be mad at me for making such a statement. I can hear it now…

“Well brother that is a false it says in John 16:8 that the Holy Spirit will convict the world of sin!”

That’s true but read the rest of the scripture.

The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in me.  (Hebrews 16:9)

What is the sin? Unbelief is the sin that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of. The Holy Spirit is here to manifest Christ Glory to a unbelieving world so that they might believe HIM! We read in Hebrews 3 that the Children of Israel died in the wilderness not because of their Idolatry, Adultery, Lying, or thieving!

For who, having heard, rebelled? Indeed, was it not all who came out of Egypt, led by Moses?  Now with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.                  (Hebrews 3:15-19)

We saw that the only sin that Christ continued to confront with in man was their unbelief. Why? Because if they had the revelation of who He was they would not sin! We sin because we do not know the fullness of God through Christ Jesus. If we walked in the revelation of His love we would walk in the revelation of the Fathers fullness that gives us identity.

Holy Spirit is not CONVICTING you of your sin, He’s CONVICTING you of His GOODNESS that leads you to REPENTANCE!

“So why do I feel bad when I Sin?”

Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, and having a High Priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.

The Holy Spirit comes to convince or convict you of Jesus because if you can behold Him you will be transformed by Him from glory to glory. Sometimes when we see Jesus glory through the lens of the LAW we run from Him. That’s when we know that we have lost the revelation of our sonship. But if we see Him through humility and grace condemnation is easily cast off and we begin to walk in our Spirit and not our flesh.
When you confessed with your mouth and believed in your heart you became a new creation in Jesus. You born again through Holy Spirit and Jesus’ blood was sprinkled upon your evil fall of man consciousness and you became the righteousness of God. When you sin it goes against what you know to be true in your heart. You are no longer made for sin but for righteousness. It makes you feel defiled and the enemy tries to condemn you so that he cans STEAL (your identity), KILL (your flesh), and DESTROY (your destiny)! (Hebrews 10:19-23)
You feel bad because when you accepted Jesus into your heart you received the sprinkling of blood on your evil conscious.
So I want you to know Holy Spirit is not shouting how bad you are but how great Jesus is! Holy Spirit does not make you conscious of your sins, Holy Spirit makes you conscious of Jesus! The reason you feel bad when you sin is not because Holy Spirit is confronting your sin but your evil conscious was sprinkled with His blood. You are made for righteousness not sin. You’re born again with a pure conscious. Stop trying to learn how not to sin, and start learning how to walk in Sonship! Abiding is the key to not sinning! Holy Spirit is there to comfort you and cheer you on to Christ! He is our teacher and the Spirit of Truth. He often shows us the reality of our heart to lead us into places of humility to seek Jesus as our source. ONLY BELIEVE SAINTS!!!

What is Repentance?

What is Repentance?
Some would say it is “to turn” but toward what. Without an encounter with Christ I find many who just continue to turn. The power of repentance is not the confession and we will talk more about confession later but in the beholding of Christ.  Christ isn’t looking for you to confess all you sins at salvation but He desires you to confess the one sin and that’s your unbelief. That is the one sin that keeps the blood and grace of God from empowering us to overcome our sins. Sin as defined by Paul is anything that is not faith. In other word forgiveness comes when you know you’re forgiven! I am not repenting to be forgiven but I am repenting (beholding) to believe I am forgiven.
John the Baptist said “here comes the Lamb of God who will wash away the sins of the BELIEVES no the WORLD.”
He has washed the sins of the world away. So are you telling me that God is pleased with self-righteous rebellious state? No! Without faith it is impossible to please God. The only thing that is going to make an unbelieving world believe is the goodness of God that leads people to behold Him. It the signs and wonders that point to a loving savior that will remove the heart of stone. God’s wrath in not set toward men but men’s sin that separates them from a loving God.
That’s why the cross is the measuring stick of God’s love. Yes God does love the world but it’s the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life that makes us enemies of God in our minds through wicked works. We need greater manifest works of God’s love presented to a dying world. They need to see the Jesus we proclaim but does your life display a transformed heart?
