Is it easier to say…

Matthew 9:2

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.  And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts? For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?  But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.

Have you ever wondered if God wants you well. Many people question if its God’s will for them to be healed. I want to tell you that that is a lie from the enemy. Not only does God want you well but he has sent his Son to pay for the worlds past, present and future illnesses.  God is as passionate about your healing as he was with your sins. We have created convenient theology to cover the cancer of unbelief that robs us of the finished work of the cross. I will begin to show you that there is a direct link between sin and sickness and how Christ paid for them both. So lets dive into the scriptures and reveal the truth that will set you free.

First let us establish the root of sin. We all know the story of Adam and Eve in the garden. Adam was created in the likeness of God and had the breath of life breathed into his nostrils. He was in a state of perfection not knowing sin but only knowing the perfect knowledge of his fathers love. Once Adam was deceived and ate of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, he was transformed that which he beheld satan. Sin entered the world bringing about all matters of sickness and ultimately bringing death. 1 Cor 15:55 states ”O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin;”. With our new nature came the sting of death which was sin. So the only reason we die on this earth is because we were born into sin and we carry a sin nature. So sin brings about sickness which bring death. God having a love for his people in the old covenant brought protection through his Law against sickness. Exodus 15:26

He said, “If you listen carefully to the LORD your God and do what is right in his eyes, if you pay attention to his commands and keep all his decrees, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the LORD, who heals you.”

His healing came through the resistance of sin. But the law was only a shadow of the glory that was to come through Christ. Sin eventually found strength in the law but there was a new law that was being established through Christ. Rom 8:2

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Christ has broken the law of sin and death and had given us complete freedom through his Spirit. God has actually forgiven all the sins of the world. The truth is no one goes to hell for their sins They go to heal for being born into sin and refusing the atonement through Christ blood. Romans 5:6 says

For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commends his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

So the truth is that the sins of the world have been forgiven. God reconciled the world to himself through Jesus. But it is only those who believe that walk in the fruits of the cross. The moment that you received the blood and believed in Christ the Holy Spirit released the breath of Life and created you into a new creation. You were restored back into the image of your father as though you had never eaten from the tree. There is no separation from God. The veil has been torn and you can know God as father.

So lets take a look at this important scripture out of Matthew. This truth will show you that not just your sins but your sickness was broken through the power of his blood.

This is what I want to point out to you, is it easier to say your sins are forgiven or arise and walk? Both seemed impossible to those standing in the crowd as Jesus spoke. But one seemed more impossible. See forgiveness of sins was an issue of sacrifice but the healing of palsy was a manifestation of the flesh that would show results immediately. It was a tangible experience. See for the Jewish people the sacrificing of bulls and goats was the atoning of sins for the entire year. Only God could forgive sins. But Christ is making a point. If I can heal you, your sins are forgiven or if I say your sins are forgiven you are healed. He puts the forgiving of sins on the same level of healing of sickness. And to prove his point he says ” But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house”. This is a great truth. Remember when after Christ healed the man at the pool. He later saw him a the temple and said, ”Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee”. Sin is the root of sickness but Christ has forgiven all of are sins and broken the law of sin and death.

By His stripes you were healed! The healing has been paid for! You have to take authority through the name of Jesus and command the sickness to leave. If the root of sin is broken then sickness has no legal right in your body. Jesus told the disciples to speak to the mountain to leave not pray that God would remove the mountain. He has given you his resurrection power through his name. You are a son or a daughter of the King. Christ in you the hope of glory lives inside you. It’s time to believe for your healing. If God is for you what can stand against you. GOD WANTS YOU WELL!!!!
