In the Old Testament anything sin touched was made unclean. If a man with leprosy touched you, you became unclean and some type of sacrifice would have to take place. In the New Testament when a man with leprosy comes to touch Jesus the consequence of sin is destroyed and everything Christ touches becomes clean. Where Christ is exalted sin can not have dominion. He makes all thing new! Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. Our battle is not over flesh and blood but over our hearts. So whatever a man thinks in his heart so is he. We often times complicate our situation by trying methods to relationship instead of looking to Jesus. All those who had a touch from Jesus had one thing in common. They saw him as their savior. We want to think we know all the answers but the truth is it is all about him and his blood, his cross and his love. Its that simple. Our theology tells us there has to be more. But Paul told the church in Galatians to not be so quickly removed from the simplicity of the gospel Christ crucified. One truth that remains is this, knowledge will make you proud but love edifies our relationship with him. We need him every moment of our day. Jesus even said Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the Kingdom of heaven. We must know where our hope comes from and that attitude will take you from glory to glory as you look into the eyes of a loving savior. Never stop asking, seeking or knocking. Let us start the day with a radical pursuit of Jesus.
